Open Events

Prospective parents are welcome to visit our Open Days, which are held in early November. At these Open Events, visitors will be given a tour of the school by S6 pupils and will meet staff and pupils. The Open Days are an excellent opportunity for prospective parents and pupils to see the work we do first hand at Craigholme and to ask questions to staff, pupils and existing parents. Please contact our Admissions Secretary to book a place.

Parents are also welcome to organise an independent visit or a Taster Day to the Nursery, Junior and/or Senior schools through the school's Admissions Secretary, Emma Hecht.

Our prospectus can be viewed online, using page flip software or alternatively a prospectus pack can be posted to you. To request a prospectus or view the online version, please click here.

Entrance Assessments
Upon receipt of your application form, our Admissions Secretary will organise your daughter's assessment. Assessment tests for Senior pupils will take place annually in January, although we are happy to make alternative arrangements for applications received later in the session.

  • Senior School
Our Senior entrance assessments, which comprise of Maths and English papers followed by an informal interview with the Principal, have been designed to recognise individual pupils' potential; it is not simply an academic test. Assessment results are taken into consideration alongside a report from your daughter's previous school. After the Senior assessments in January, the school will confirm in writing whether your daughter will be offered a place or not. Letters of confirmation can be expected to be received in mid February.
  • Junior School
Pupils in J2-J7 will be invited to spend a day in school with the appropriate class where they will be informally assessed throughout the day. Pupils in J1 will be tested on a one to one basis. All Junior School assessements are arranged on an appointment basis through our Admissions Secretary.
  • Nursery
Entry Assessments for Nursery take place in March for August starts. Assessments can be arranged at later dates too for those starting at other points in the year. For more information please contact our Admissions Secretary

Taster Days
Junior and Senior pupils are welcome to spend a day in school with their appropriate year group where they will attend lessons, meet the teachers and fellow pupils and take part in various activities. To arrange a taster day please contact the school's Admissions Secretary, Emma Hecht.

Regardless of when your daughter joins the Craigholme community, she will be welcomed by both pupils and staff alike. All new pupils are assigned a 'buddy' upon arrival to help ease the transition.
