The Art Department run an Art Club open to all S1 and S2 pupils.
The aim of the Club is to allow pupils to learn new skills, use lots of different materials and techniques and have lots of fun! Girls can also enter competitions through the Art Club, and can use the time to work on their own art projects.
The Art Club has just finished work for The Scottish National Galleries Art Competition for Schools. The title of the competition this year was ‘See It, Frame It, Draw It’. Pupils looked at still life paintings from the National Galleries collection and produced a piece of work in response to them. Miss Mitchell decided to focus on printmaking and the girls produced several colourful polystyrene prints of their own still life drawings and then collaged them together to create new and individual pieces of work.
