Book Groups

We have three Book Groups — one in the Upper Junior School and two in the Senior School.

The Junior 5 Book Group is hosted by the S6 Librarians. The J5 pupils love working with the older pupils and the Book Group is always a lively lunchtime session, with lots of discussion and story-telling. The S6 Librarians have great enthusiasm for this club and ensure that their work with the younger pupils cultivates a genuine love for reading.

Mrs Luc, one of Craigholme’s Librarians, runs the S1 Book Group. This term they have been reading books from the Scottish Children’s Book Awards shortlist. The authors they are going to be reading next term are Teresa Flavin, Nicola Morgan and Theresa Breslin.

The S3–S6 Book Group are led by Mrs Young. They have been meeting since the start of the school year and are currently reading Brave New World.
