Community Sports

At Craigholme we have developed strong links with the local community in terms of hosting various sporting clubs and activities in our Sports Complex.

In 2010, we were the first independent school in Scotland to employ a Community Sports Development Co-ordinator. Since then our co-ordinator, Amanda Currie, has established a varied timetable of classes open to parents, pupils, former pupils, staff and the local community.

NB: Advanced booking is required for pilates and yoga.

Family Badminton and Climbing Club
This family club runs every Friday after school from 4pm-5.30pm. The club is open to pupils and their friends and family members. There are expert instructors on site and the club is a great opportunity to learn a new skill and use the fantastic resources available at Craigholme. This is proving to be a very popular, sociable family activity.

Miss Matfin, a Junior 4 parent goes to the Family  Badminton and Climbing Club and sees it as a valuable after school activity:

"I know my daughter had been eyeing the climbing wall in anticipation since Junior 1, so having the opportunity to tackle it while receiving such excellent supervision and instruction has been a fantastic introduction to climbing for all of the girls.

Teaming this activity with badminton gave such a good mix to the session. Set at a good pace, Graham ensures everyone is kept on the move with games and great tuition.

All in all, an excellent after school activity providing great exercise and plenty of fun."

Craigholme Sports Camp 
The next Sports Camp is from Monday 13–Friday 17 February. It will be a Badminton Sports Camp and is open to any child between the ages of 5–14. Please see this flyer for more information and contact Amanda Currie to book your child a place.
