To celebrate the London 2012 Olympic Games, Craigholme School is hosting its own sporting competition: The Craigholme Olympics.

The Craigholme Olympics will run throughout the school year, with the official Opening Ceremony taking place at Assembly on Friday 9 September. Many of the school’s sporting events will be included in the Games, such as hockey, athletics, distance running and tennis.

Each of the five Houses will be a competitor, and the House Members will all earn points for their House as a result of their sporting successes. Points will be awarded for every win or draw in hockey league matches, and for individual rankings in other sports. Full details of the scoring are available.

The House with the most points at the end of Session 2011/12 will be named Gold Winners of the Craigholme Olympics at the Closing Ceremony.

Points will be collated every Monday morning so remember to check the Leaderboard here or in the Hub for the latest scores.

Games Captain and Event Organiser, Emma Traynor will be co-ordinating the Games. Emma hopes that the Craigholme Olympics can involve the whole school, create team spirit within each House and promote and celebrate the sporting achievements of the school and the London 2012 Olympics.
