Eco Groups

Senior, Junior and Nursery pupils have been working hard towards the goal of gaining an Eco-Schools silver award. To help achieve this award the school has two eco-groups:

Junior Eco Group
The group encourages fellow pupils and staff to recycle plastic bottles and paper. Upper Junior School members designed and made posters to remind fellow pupils to switch off the taps and save water.

The Green Goddess title is awarded weekly at assembly to one pupil in the Lower Junior School, who has been most helpful in the playground by picking up litter and making sure other pupils don't drop litter and generally being eco-friendly.

The nursery have been doing their bit too by collecting paper and plastic bottles for recycling.

The Upper Junior School members create a regular newsletter to inform other pupils and parents about their activities. To download a copy please click on the following links:

Senior Eco Group
The senior group also recycles bottles and paper on a weekly basis.
Used ink cartridges are collected too and sent back to the supplier, who at the end of the year will reward the school with a sum of money for the school's chosen charity.

Three sapling trees have been gifted to the school from the Woodland Trust's Tree for All scheme. The Hawthorn tree, Holly tree and Buckthorn tree will be planted by volunteer senior pupils in the school grounds
