Puzzle Club

Puzzle Club is open to pupils in S1 on Monday lunchtimes. Different activities take place to bring maths to life in a fun but stimulating way. For example, pupils are given a theme to dress-up to, such as Dinner Party or River Crossing to try different Scottish Mathematical Council problems. In addition to this we hold seasonal events such as a Halloween Relay Race. This year was ghosts against witches; where teams raced to answer as many maths questions as possible in a set amount of time. One of the favourite activities of the club is transforming two dimensional shapes into three dimensional shapes, with only the aid of scissors, needle and thread.

At the club, pupils learn and reinforce important skills such as visual sequencing, fine motor skills, lateral thinking and spatial awareness.

The Puzzle Club always welcomes new members.
