At Craigholme, Religious and Moral Education follows the Curriculum for Excellence and we explore world religions under the three headings: Beliefs, Values and Issues, and Practices and Traditions. A variety of methodologies are used in the teaching of the courses.
The aim of RME is to equip pupils with the knowledge that will allow them to engage in debate with regards to religion and to help them to reflect and evaluate their own moral and ethical viewpoints, and those of others, in a positive manner.

Meet the staff
Mrs Sweeney has been a part of the Craigholme community for 11 years and became RME Co-ordinator in August 2011. Mrs Sweeney attended Edinburgh University were she studied Medical Microbiology. She completed her PGCE at Jordanhill and has remained in Glasgow and a teacher at Craigholme ever since. She wanted to be the RME Co-ordinator to develop her management skills and interest in this area. She thoroughly enjoys working with the twelve other members of staff who teach the RME curriculum.
