At Craigholme, academic standards are high and our pupils' exam results are consistently amongst Scotland’s top performing schools.
The results for 2012/13 are no exception and the S5 girls achieved a Higher pass rate of 93.4%. We have been confirmed as equal fifth top school in Scotland for Higher results, and have been ranked at number eight in The Sunday Times Schools Guide based on these impressive results (you can see the full guide below).
There are many impressive individual performances and the results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the pupils and staff along with the vital support and encouragement from family.
To put these results into context, this year our Higher pass rate of 93.4% is a substantial 16% more than the national average with our Higher candidates averaging 4.5 Highers each. At Advanced Higher our pass rate is 12% above the national average with 27% of our S6 girls each securing A passes in three Advanced Highers.
The S4 results are equally impressive with 100% pass rate at Standard Grade. Not only are these pass rates excellent but the quality of passes at A & B has been improving year on year.
We pride ourselves on helping girls achieve their goals which is why we do not use any kind of presentation policy to enhance our statistics – if pupils wish to study a subject, we allow them to do so and support them in any way we can. This makes these results all the more impressive.
After gaining strong academic results along with participating in and leading many of the wider opportunities at Craigholme, the vast majority of our S6 pupils go on to the university and course of their choice in Scotland or further afield.
We are delighted to have been ranked equal fifth top school in Scotland for Higher results at grades A and B.
