Mr Chris Williams, Editor of the Daily Mail, gave advice to J7 pupils about how to produce their own newspaper.
As part of their classroom work, which focuses on skills of co-operation and developing understanding of world issues, such as the environment and justice, the pupils are producing their own newspaper.
Mr Williams described the daily tasks that are undertaken to create one of the widest read newspapers in Scotland; from researching stories, to choosing photos, designing page layouts and editing the final version.
Pupils had many questions to ask Mr Williams and enjoyed listening to his anecdotes and advice.
J7 are due to publish their newspaper in time for the Easter holidays. They are rotating weekly the roles of reporting, producing and editing.
Ailsa Henderson said, “Its great fun working as a team on the newspaper. It can be quite challenging at times, particularly having to work to deadlines.”
