The Senior Drama Club meets weekly after school. It is open to pupils from S3 - S6. The purpose of the Club is, to foster creativity, co-operation and confidence. We focus on characterisation and movement skills and concentrate particularly on ensemble pieces. We work with the National Theatre Connections Programme (London) and workshop their specially written new plays, then perform it to the rest of the school and parents in March. In June we transfer to the Lyceum, Edinburgh for a final performance of our play.
The Junior Drama Club meets weekly after school and is open to pupils in S1 and S2. The aims are the same as the Senior Club. We work with the Shakespeare Festival who provide abridged versions of Shakespeare's plays, offer us workshops with other clubs, and the opportunity to perform in a Glasgow Theatre with two other participating Theatre Groups.
Both of these connections with national groups give the girls more confidence in their abilities, as they work with professionals and peers from all over the country.
