Enterprise Project

The Junior School Enterprise Club received some professional advice from Rodgerson’s Footwear Personnel Manager.

Gillian Keery, who is the Personnel Manager for the chain of footwear shops, spoke to pupils about how to run your own retail business and gave advice on pricing, advertising and customer service.

The Enterprise Club divided themselves into a sales team, marketers and budgeters to source, design, cost and advertise a stall of Christmas products which they set up in the Lower Junior School. Their merchandise included candy canes, bracelets, magnets and photo frames.

Molly Hart (J6) said, “Gillian’s advice was really helpful and gave us lots of ideas. The project has taught us how to work out costs and profits as well as why it’s important to advertise.”

Gillian kindly donated some funds to the Enterprise Club to allow them to start up their stall. Their next venture is sourcing and selling gifts for Valentine’s Day.
