We strive to achieve high academic standards through stimulating teaching, challenging expectations and first-class resources. Extra-curricular clubs and community links extend the curriculum and enrich the lives of our pupils.

The ethos of the school is nurturing and positive. We work extremely hard in creating a supportive and vibrant community. Our values are at the centre of our community focus and are reinforced through daily life in our classrooms. Our happy, stimulating environment enables each pupil to learn through a range of methodologies and high quality learning experiences.

Mrs Neill, Head of Upper Junior School and Mrs Mitchell, Head of Lower junior school, work closely with Mrs McBeath, Head of Craigholme and Kelvinside Junior Schools. They liase closely with class teachers and with Mrs McColl (Learning Support) to ensure that each pupil achieves his or her best. Parents are very welcome to arrange an appointment to discuss their child’s progress with the class teacher or Head of Department.

Our learning takes place in attractive and spacious buildings with bright, airy classrooms and well planned outdoor learning areas. We value our school’s history and maintain a healthy respect for tradition, but at the same time we are committed to change where appropriate. We enjoy using our excellent sports complex just a mile down the road which boasts spacious grounds, a large internal games hall, a fully equipped dance studio, a climbing wall, tennis courts and an all weather hockey pitch. Our pupils benefit from specialist subject teaching from Senior School staff in Languages, P.E and Music. We also make full use of the excellent benefits of our lovely location: we are conveniently situated to take full advantage of several local parks and local museum venues, as well as being just a short drive from the City Centre.

Although the school was established on a non–denominational foundation, we welcome children of all faiths and from a range of cultural backgrounds. Diversity, we believe, enhances the richness of our school community. We have a lively and vibrant school, and we do hope that you will come and visit us to see, first hand, what makes Craigholme special.

Please feel free to make an individual appointment to visit at any time during the year. We look forward to welcoming you to our school.
