The Learning Programme

Craigholme School Nursery offers your child the best start to a lifetime of learning. The children learn by play and exploration through a planned programme of activities.

Children are introduced to numerical concepts and pre-reading and writing skills at appropriate stages and are encouraged to work to their full potential. These activities are in turn further enhanced through teaching by specialist Senior School staff in Music, Physical Education and French.

All staff are qualified Child Development Officers and Teachers. Working in partnership with parents, each child is given a Personal Learning Plan which enables them to grow and develop at their own pace.

Buddy System

Nursery children benefit from the J2 pupil Buddy System. This builds their confidence, gives them a welcome support structure and a taste of life at school. The J1 teacher and Additional Support Needs Teacher also regularly visit the Nursery which ensures a smooth transition into Junior School.

(*) the Nursery closes between Christmas and New Year
