Claudia Dinning (J6) came second in the Olympia Christmas Showjumping event on 20 December, which was broadcast on the Eurosport TV Channel.
Only 12 competitors were chosen from across the UK to take part in the Under 12 category at this event in London, which attracts some of the top riders in the world. Claudia’s accolades during the summer qualified her for the Olympia event.
In June, Claudia and her mare, Forever Penny, represented Scotland at the Welsh Home Pony International, winning a bronze medal. In July, on home soil, Claudia won a Gold medal at the Scottish Home Pony International at Rowallan Activity Centre against the cream of the UK equestrian sport’s youngsters. In addition Claudia was placed many times on the Country Show circuit including a second at the Royal Highland Show.
Claudia said, “I’m really happy to have achieved second place. The course was quite complicated but my pony was well behaved.”
Age 10, Claudia regularly competes against top riders in the 12 and Under category, jumping technical and demanding courses with fences at 1 metre 10 centimetres to 1 metre 20 centimetres in height.
