Single Sex Education

Craigholme is the only independent school in the west of Scotland catering exclusively for girls. Girls have been outperforming boys in school exams for many years. Boys and girls mature at different rates and consequently they learn in different ways, and an all girl education further enables female students to realise their academic and personal potential and develop the skills and confidence to speak for themselves. Single-sex education for girls provides many benefits including: avoidance of subject stereotyping; positive female role models; and a teaching approach tailored specifically to girls' educational needs.

"As an Advocate, my job is all about communication and it is essential that I have the confidence to speak in court to judges and juries. I have no doubt that Craigholme laid the foundations for my chosen career. I enjoyed debating at school, a skill that has served me well in my work. Craigholme was an excellent learning centre."
